What's in a name?...

Ok, so I woke up a couple weeks ago freaking out because we don't have a name for this little guy yet. I know that I am probably worrying too soon because I am only 22 weeks along so there is plenty of time but I am such a detail oriented person that I feel the need to decide now.
I think that it is so much harder to come up with a name for a boy. Would anyone else agree with me? I think that you have to think a whole lot more about how he'll like it when he's older and if it is a name that works for a little boy and a man.
So far our favorite name is Easton. I really like it but I just don't feel the love factor about it. Ya know what I mean? Kaydence's name was easy cuz we both loved it but I can't find a boy name that makes me feel the same way. We also like Logan and Cameron but I feel the same way about those names too. So, am I crazy? I'm starting to think that maybe I just won't love a boys name.
So please help me and give me your thoughts on it because I feel like I am stressing out way too much about this and I thought that maybe some advice might help.
Feel free to call me crazy but you know how it is if you've been pregnant before... You worry about anything and everything! Thanks everyone!

It's a...

I went to the dr last wednesday and I had to have an ultrasound done to check on some cysts I had on my ovaries (which are gone by the way, so yay!) and the tech said that the baby is measuring big and they think I'm a couple weeks further than they originally thought and so she could tell what the gender was. She asked if I would want to know and I told her no because Rob wasn't with me and she said that she would take a picture of it and put it in an envelope for Rob and I to open later.
I called Rob to tell him what had happened and that we would be finding out today and of course he was so excited that he left work a little early.
When he got home we opened up the envelope together and had to look at the picture pretty hard to see what it was but there was a funny little arrow pointing at something tiny and under that it said...
IT'S A BOY!!!!!
Rob was jumping up and down and I just kept repeating ''it's a boy'' because I couldn't believe it. It is what we really wanted. We are so ecstatic to be adding a little boy to our happy family! It is going to be so fun to change gears completely and do the boy thing this time! I'm pretty nervous cuz I feel like I am pretty good at handling a girl but life is all about change and finding new things in life!
So now the great name debate begins... His first name will be Robert because Rob is Robert the third so we will carry on the tradition. He will go by his middle name though, if we ever decide what that will be. :) Any ideas?? I'm up for suggestions!

If I haven't already told the world... :)

WE'RE PREGNANT!! Sorry this blog isn't a very exciting announcement but I've been super sick and haven't quite felt like doing much. I'm 13 weeks along so baby Peck will be here in April and we couldn't be more excited! Kaydence thinks that she has a baby in her tummy too and she hugs and kisses my tummy everyday! Things are going really well. We've had a few complications along the way but hopefully we're outta the woods and all will go well from here on out. I'll try to be better about updating and letting everyone know how it is going. Yay for babies!

Last week we had our pictures taken again and they turned out really cute but man it is hard to get a 2 year old to smile and look at the camera! The cutesy little looks on her face are what makes her so stinkin cute though! It is so weird to see how much Kaydence has changed since we got them done 9 months ago. My friend Wendy took them again and did a great job! Here are some of my favorites.

My favorite but I wish she didn't have her finger in her mouth. Oh well! :)

Mischevous little smile

Kaydence's favorite cuz she got to play on the truck

I love my little family!

I can't believe our baby is 2!

I cannot tell you how shocked I am that my baby is 2!! It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and she was so tiny. I am still amazed everyday about how smart she is and the things that she does! We had 2 birthday parties for her. One on saturday night with Robs family and one on sunday with my family.
On Sunday, her real birthday, my family came over and we had a bbq. Kaydence had not been feeling well that day so it started out kinda rocky but once her Mama got there she turned right around! It is always so fun to get my whole family together! Mom, Dad, David, Carina, Ashley, Neil, Ellie, Cole, Cassie, Harrison, Jake and my Grandparents on my dads side all came. She got spoiled with presents and it was so fun to see her rip them open and scream at every one!

Of course daddy got her another BYU shirt, gearin up for the new season!

Aunt Ashley gave her a picture frame that says laugh across the top of it and has 3 really adorable pictures of Kaydee at Ashleys wedding.

Her favorite present of all, a bike! You should've seen the excitement!!

Cousin Ellie playing stick the dot on the lady bug.

Yay hopscotch!

A lunch tin of her favorite show ever, The Backyardigans. Again, the excitement was hilarious!

Thanking gama and papa for the bike!

Aunt Cassie and soon to be Uncle Harrison. Oh and goofy Uncle Jake of course.

Daddys little girl!

How she spent the rest of the night... On her bike watching her favorite movie, Cassie and Harrison gave her, High School Musical 3!

The party on saturday was so much fun! Kaydence got spoiled by her aunts and uncles. It's funny how well they know her and all got her presents that she loves. We opened presents first then had cake and ice cream. It is so much fun getting together with Robs sisters and their hubbies cuz we can just sit and chat forever. Kaydence dug right into her cake this year which shocked us cuz she is such a clean girly and hates to be dirty but it was so funny to see her covered in it!

Aunt Cynthia got her a mermaid barbie that she loves for bath time!

Yummy yummy cake!

Her favorite toy of the night! Hard to believe, not! Such a modern little girl!

Aunt Amy scored major points with this pillow!

We are so blessed to have such a huge family and to be so close to everyone! Thanks again for coming!

Naughty, not nice!!

So, I was on the computer the other day and Kaydence was in the room next to me watching Backyardigans and I noticed that it had gotten really quiet and if you're a mom you know that is not good... it's a cue that she is up to something! So i wondered upstairs to see what trouble she was into and you'll never guess what surprise I found...

Somehow Kaydence had gotten the fridge open, gotten the eggs out and smashed one on the floor. I tried not to freak out and cleaned it up. But, I then walked into my front room and found another little surprise...

This time she decided to smear the whites all over my entry way!! HELP, the terrible twos have arrived early and I feel that we are in for a long ride!

Finally catching up!

Wow I am such a slacker! I cannot believe that it has been a month since I have blogged. Sorry friends! Needless to say that this post might be a little long but we have been so busy and I want to catch everyone up on what's up with the Pecks!
Kaydence is getting so big! I took her to the doctor the other day and she is now in the 40% for height and weight. That is the biggest she has been on the percentage scale. I have to play the bragging parent card for a minute because the doctor was so impressed that she talks so much and makes so many sentences out of her words. Also, he speaks Spanish and started asking her where all her body parts are in spanish and she got every one right on the first try! He said that he has never seen a kid her age know so much of a secondary language! She also knows dozens of other words in spanish because Rob speaks it constantly to her. Our little genius!! He said that she is well beyond where she should be and said that we don't have to bring her back til she's 3. Yay! It is just good to have someone tell you that you are doing something right. :)

Rob's job is going so well! He is moving up to be a Loan Officer now!! His boss approached him last week and said that he is doing an awesome job and the company wanted to pay for him to get his license. Before, he would get info and send out quotes but have to turn the loans over to get finished but now he gets to see them through from start to finish. I am so so proud of him and cannot tell you how much I love seeing him excited about work!!

My big brother and his wife graduated from BYU last week! He graduated in Electrical Engineering and she graduated in Accounting. Way to go guys!! I love you both so much!! :)

Yay David and Carina!!

Kaydence also got her first haircut a couple weeks ago! She was starting to get the little baby mullet in the back but it was so hard to bring myself to cut it! I am so glad that I did. She loved getting it cut and she felt so special on mommy's hair chair. :) Now she has a cute little bob and she actually lets my round brush and style it. Oh, my dreams of having a girly girl are definitely coming true!

She kept looking in the mirror saying "pretty kaydee". So cute!

Last month we went camping with my family and had an absolute blast!! We go about 3 hours south, in the middle of nowhere. The week was full of campfires, shooting, arrowhead hunting, and my favorite... 4 WHEELING!! It was so fun to get out of town and be close with family. Thanks again to my grandma, who spoiled Rob, Kaydence and I by letting us stay in her trailer with her. It was so perfect during the days but bitter cold at night, so we were very greatful. We spent most of the time being crazy on the 4 wheelers and came back with plenty of bumps and bruises to show for it but I definitely think it was worth it. Kaydence loved camping too! She was all about running into the woods and playing in the dirt. Man, we sure got our exercise chasing her but I was so glad that she loved it.
Everyone around the campfire!

Stoppin for a pit stop to nap on the steps. Odd litle child. LOL!

Camping is a dirty job but we love it!!

My dad showing Rob how to shoot a muzzle loader!

I have to brag that I am a pretty good shot! I definitely showed those boys what's up!

Uncle Jake spoiled Kaydee with tons of 4 wheelin rides! She loved it so much, it was torture to try to get her off them.

Had to bring her "mimi" along for the trip. Poor little monkey got left a little close to the fire and has a few battle marks now. Oops!!

I promise I'll be better at posting!! :)

What a birthday!!

So, today is my birthday and do you wanna see my big birthday surprise....

It's a fully loaded 2008 Nissan Altima! The most amazing car that I have ever driven. It has button start and all the bells and whistles! Nice huh!

Too bad it's a rental!! :( Got ya!
Yesterday Rob got in a really bad car accident but we are so lucky that he is totally ok, other than a few bruises from the seat belt and air bag and a little whip lash but he is such a mans man that he pretends it doesn't hurt. The accident wasn't his fault. A girl turned left in front of him at an intersection that didn't have a stop sign so he slammed on his brakes but hit her going about 40 and she flipped into a fence and then he slammed into another car after hitting her! Everyone involved is ok other than whiplash and bruises. Once again, we are so so lucky! But we did have to bid a fond farewell to our little Honda :( We're not sure the condition of it but we're 99% sure that it is totaled. It is like 16 years old but was in great condition and ran perfectly because my grandparents used to own it and sold it to us a couple years ago. We are so sad to see it go and totally dreading car shopping but at least we get to enjoy this sweet ride for the next couple weeks.
It was a cool birthday present to get to drive this around all day. I also went out to lunch with 2 of my really good girl friends, Erin and Jamie. Thanks again girls! Rob and I had Cafe Rio for dinner and he gave me my presents which included this gorgeous right hand ring! :)

It's a pink saphirre with diamonds on the side. I've wanted a gem stone for the longest time and it is just what I wanted!! Thanks again baby!
Kaydence gave me a rose and a gift card that daddy got for her to give me from my favorite hobby store!
My family all pitched in and got me my own sewing machine!! YAY! Now I can give my sister hers back and take my time on all the projects I have going! :)
My sister sent me this picture this morning of my neice and nephew. Cole always smiles a big cheesy smile like that and it is so like Ellie to be holding the paper upside down. I love them!

It was a very happy birthday!

Pictures from Primary Hospital

So over our adventurous weekend at Primary Childrens I didn't exactly have a camera with me so i took a few pictures with my phone so that I could have some but I wasn't even sure how to get them off my phone. Thanks to my little brothers genius mind I did it!! So sorry to back track but I wanted to put pictures on here. Oh and if you missed my blog about being in Primarys, it is 2 ahead of this one. Posted on Tuesday.

Our poor little sick girl getting a breathing treatment.

Who's sick?... Not me...

Exploring the new room

Showing off her bouncy ball the nurse gave her for being such a good girl during her x-rays! She loved making everyone play fetch with her while she was hooked up to the machines.

More than ready to go home!

Just an update...

Thanks so much to everyone that has shown us so much love and concern through our hard time. It really does help to have this blog and be able to keep in touch with so many great people and know that I am not alone in this trying world. That other moms can be just as lost as I am some times. So thanks again! :)
Just an update... Today is the first day that we have not had to give Kaydence a breathing treatment! YAY! She is doing so much better. Poor little thing sounds like she is coughing up a lung most of the day but the doctors said that is what we want to happen because it means that her airway is open and allowing stuff through. Also, she ate solid food today and kept it down. Yay again! She's still sleeping lots, which I will not complain about. :) She sleeps about 14 hours at night and takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day. It's gotta be exhausting.
It is so so good to see her getting back to being our mischievous little princess! She is the light of our lives and we are so blessed to have our tiny beeny Kaydee bug!

What an eventful weekend...

We had a pretty eventful weekend at our house. Started out fine on saturday morning and we ended the day at Primary Childrens hospital...
Kaydence woke up Saturday morning and was weezing a little bit. She has asthma so we didn't think much of it and gave her the inhaler and she started to get a little better but still was weezing when i went to work at noon. I called Rob from work at 4 and he said that her breathing had gotten much worse and was worried we'd have to take her to the doctor. Me being a first time mom, I freaked out and they let me leave work. When I got home it sounded like she was barely getting any air so we rushed her to the Insta care. Now, we still don't have health insurance is why we went to an Insta care, cuz they are supposed to be cheaper. So we got there and they gave her a couple Nebulizer treatments and a steriod shot and they got her breathing good enough that they could hear that there was something else going on... CROUP!! They were really concerned because it sounded like her airway was barely open so they made us go by ambulance to Primary Chilrens. Talk about scary!
When we got to the hospital they rushed her into the emergency and kept giving her more breathing treatments and she was on oxygen for hours. They took us to get an x-ray done of her throat and they were right, it looked completely clamped closed in the middle. Her having asthma made it a lot worse too. It was definitely a really bad viral infection in her throat. One that just had to run its course because it can't be treated with antibiotics.
So, they kept us over night. By this time things had gotten better that Kaydence wanted to eat and run around the room. They told us to try to keep her calm as much as possible but if you have a 1 year old, you know thats impossible for too long. By the time that they had us in our room for the night she could go off the oxygen for little bits of time. So we would let her play for a bit cuz she really wanted to explore this new room. She slept ok during the night. A couple hours at a time. They came in to check her stats cuz she was all hooked up to machines and she would wake up every time and just wanted mom so I got maybe 3 hours of sleep.
The doctor came in the morning and said that they wanted to observe her a while longer and she got to where she could totally breath on her own. They finally let us go home in the afternoon. YAY!!
Kaydence is doing well now. She starts to weez if we let her wonder around the house so we try to keep her in one place as much as we can. We've watched High School Musical over and over to keep her happy. Hey, being a mom is about sacrifice right! It's so awesome to hear her talk again and know that she is going to be ok. She means the world to us and I cannot tell you how scary this has all been but we are so so lucky that she is getting better and will be the same ol Kaydee in a few days. We are so blessed! They said that she'll be pretty sick for awhile but hopefully the worst is over. We're supposed to stay away from people for 7 to 10 days as well so we'll be m.i.a for while but we don't wanna share the love.

What's new with us!

I feel like it has been forever since I've blogged again, sorry! I just wanted to put a little update on here...
Rob is loving his new job. I have to tell you that it is so awesome to see him excited to go to work. He really feels like he is accomplishing things and helping people get better home loans which is really nice considering this slump that the economy is in. I think that now we can finally say that him losing his job was a blessing! He was wanting to get out of there for a long time and just needed a little to push to venture out into another career!
I am still working in the salon and doing some hair at home too. It really has been a blessing to have that skill that I can do out of my home. I love it! I have been super busy helping my sister with her wedding plans. So much to do, so LITTLE time! Less than 5 weeks! Gotta make the guest book, plan the bridal shower, make 2 bridesmaid dresses, put together the flower arrangements and help with the invites. I am really loving having so much to do though! :)
Oh and lots of you have asked if we got the Aflac insurance, and thanks for everyones input on that. Yup we got it!! I am so excited. We got new primary insurance that has a 90 day waiting period before you can get pregnant so hopefully all will go well and in just over a year we'll have another little blessing in our family! :)
If you've been over to our house lately this is what you've seen of Kaydence...

She is obsessed with High School Musical! Except, she calls it "boys are back" cuz that is her favorite song on there. I have never seen a kid that will sit there for a WHOLE movie and barely blink. She's always been a fan of music. When I was prego with her we'd go to church and as soon as the organ started in Sacrament she would start kicking like crazy. I really think she's gonna be a dancer!

Our poor little bug had an asthma attack this week so we had to have her use her inhalor with an air chamber on it, which she calls her "do do do" cuz we pretend like it's a trumpet so that she's not afraid to use it. It works like magic and it's good that she thinks it's a toy cuz she'll breath into it really well. But yes, it does have tape on it because daddy accidently stepped on it and cracked it. Believe it or not, it was pretty expensive so it may look funny but I'm all about saving money and it works perfectly still.

Aflac.. Yay or nay?

Rob and I want to have another baby and we don't have good maternity coverage with the insurance that we are getting next month, so we have heard about Aflac and wanted to know if anyone has had it or knows anyone that has and if it is worth. Do you really just get a check after you have the baby? We are meeting with a guy tomorrow about it and I just wanted some opinions before we met with him. So, please let me know. :) Thanks!

Help! Advice Please!

This week we decided that Kaydence should be done with bottles all together. She has only been having a bottle at night time for the last 6 months and that has worked out great. Her pediatrician said that he wanted us to keep giving her a bottle of rice milk at night because she is so small and he wanted to make sure that she is going to bed full to hopefully help her gain weight. Well, we haven't been able to take her to the doctor because we lost our insurance with Robs old job so we decided that she's 19 months old and we need to break the habit some time. Well, as you can imagine the past few nights have been a NIGHTMARE!! She screams and screams and won't fall asleep til late and wakes up in the middle of the night. We've tried giving her the rice milk, juice, and water in a sippy and nothing is working! I don't know what to do and I feel so guilty that I have to let her scream herself to sleep! Any ideas would be great...

Congrats to my big sis!

Ok so I am only doing this because I have been dying to blog about it and I think it's finally safe because I can't spoil it now... My big sister Ashley is getting engaged tonight!! Yay!
She met her soon to be fiance' Neil when they were in high school 7 years ago and dated for awhile but broke up when he left on his mission. Well, 6 years have passed and through talking to friends they learned that they had both been married and divorced. They started talking a couple months ago and are absolutely perfect for each other! He loves her kids to death and is going to be a great dad!
How stinkin cute is that?!?! Definitely meant to be if after 6 years they found each other again!
I cannot tell you how happy I am that she is finally getting her happily ever after! The wedding date isn't set yet because her temple divorce is still in the works but hopefully it'll only be a few months.
CONGRATS Ashley and Neil! We love you both!

Wish me luck! I will post and let everyone know how it is going! Now, I challenge all of you that have ever wanted to learn to sew to GET STARTED it's actually easier than it looks and if I can do it, anyone can!

My new hobby!

So I have decided that I am going to be a little more domestic and I want to do some more crafty things around my house. So I borrowed my sisters sewing machine and I made drapes for my downstairs. I know it's way easy but that is big for me! Next I decided to be a little more daring and I made a skirt. The fabric for the skirt was just some scrap fabric that I got from my Grandma to practice with but I think I actually like it. We'll see if I really wear it but I sure am proud of myself.

(I promise they're even, they just look crooked in the picture)

(The pattern is floral, you can't really tell from this picture.

My next project is going to be these cute letters that you hang on the wall. I'll probably spell out Kaydences name. My really good friend Jen is going to show me how to make them because she has them for her daughter Taelie. She is so stinkin crafty and we are going to start doing craft nights once a month and I cannot wait!
Sorry if this seems dorky but I am super excited to learn some awesome things. If anyone has any other ideas of cute things that they have in there house that are easy to make, let me know please!
