All growed up!

I have been in desperate need of a fun project to do and decided that I would paint the kids toy room. I found a picture that I liked on pinterest and took Kaydence to pick out the paint colors that we were going to do it in. When we were buying paint she kept asking if the toy room could be her big girl room when we were done painting it...
Hmmmm. This got me thinking, we were going to have to move her downstairs before we had another baby because we only have the 2 rooms upstairs and what better time to do it than when she is begging us to let her and super excited about it. We've been putting it off because the thought of having her downstairs is kinda scary but we feel like she is big enough now that she always sleeps through the night and isn't afraid of anything. Her room is right below ours and you can seriously hear every word through the vents. We have our alarm system and plus, we hooked up the baby monitor so we can hear her if she wakes up. :)
Now, to the process of painting it. Felicity and I spent 2 hours taping all the lines. I decided that I didn't want them in any order, just random sizes. It looks super cute and was easier than having to measure each stripe perfectly. Then we painted the stripes in a color pattern, one color at a time. We worked on it for about 8 hours and got all the stripes painted.
Well, because the walls are textured the tape couldn't be flat in some places so it bled. The next day I had to go through and fix EVERY single stripe with a little detail brush to make them perfect. I know that sounds anal but we had already spent so much time on it that I wanted it to be perfect. This took me another 6 hours over 2 days.
Next, I painted the solid wall blue... decided I didn't like it, so I painted it pink... decided it made the room look too chaotic.... So, back to white it was. I have a habit of being indecisive and making everything harder on myself. LOL! This took me a whole other day to do. Adding up the hours. :)
Then I taped the shape of the tree and painted that. Followed by the adorable little owls that I am pretty proud of, if I do say so myself. He he. Kaydence says that they are her and Easton. Sooo cute, huh.
I re-painted the "wish upon a star" sign because it used to be pink but didn't match either pink that I had in there. Re-painted the headboard.
Hung up all the decor and WALLAH! Here is her cute big girl room....

So lucky!

I am writing this mostly for my own good but to let you all know as well but I just have to say that I feel so lucky! I have the best husband in the world! He works so hard for our little family and does everything that he can to make things easier on us. His job is going really well and has helped us be able to accomplish a lot of goals that we honestly didn't know how we could ever do. It has helped relieve so much pressure that he and I have felt building up over the last few years with the economy being so crummy. He really does love his job and will hope to be doing this for the rest of his career.
I am so lucky to have 2 beautiful, amazing, healthy kids that I love more than anything in the world! It is so fun to watch them learn and grow everyday. Kaydence knows the whole alphabet and has started trying to read. Crazy! She'll ask us what a word is and we'll tell her to sound it out and she does it. I cannot believe that my baby will be in Kindergarten in 5 months! Where does the time go?... Easton is getting huge. Catching up to Kaydence quick. He doesn't talk too much but I know they say boys are usually slower so I'm not too worried about it. He says certain words and can kinda tell you what he wants. He is starting to understand alot of the Spanish that Rob will speak to him. He is ALL boy! He gets into any cupboard, drawer, closet that he can and will pull anything apart that he gets his hands on. He is the sweetest little boy though too. We are planning on having another one some time, after I get over my fear of going from 2 kids to 3. YIKES! That seems so overwhelming. I can't imagine us stopping at only 2 kids though so I know I have to get over my fear soon. LOL!
My weight loss is going really well. I have lost almost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. YAY! I actually joined Weight Watchers and I love it! It has been so great to learn what things to eat and what not to eat. I have found that there are some things that I thought were good for me that actually aren't. The first week was rough with learning to track the points but now its super easy. It feels so great to have the structure and be told flat out, what to do. I needed that. I can definitely tell a difference in how I feel and I can't wait til I can see a difference.
Anyway, that's enough rambling. Just wanted to let the world know that it's all good with the Pecks! :)
