All growed up!

I have been in desperate need of a fun project to do and decided that I would paint the kids toy room. I found a picture that I liked on pinterest and took Kaydence to pick out the paint colors that we were going to do it in. When we were buying paint she kept asking if the toy room could be her big girl room when we were done painting it...
Hmmmm. This got me thinking, we were going to have to move her downstairs before we had another baby because we only have the 2 rooms upstairs and what better time to do it than when she is begging us to let her and super excited about it. We've been putting it off because the thought of having her downstairs is kinda scary but we feel like she is big enough now that she always sleeps through the night and isn't afraid of anything. Her room is right below ours and you can seriously hear every word through the vents. We have our alarm system and plus, we hooked up the baby monitor so we can hear her if she wakes up. :)
Now, to the process of painting it. Felicity and I spent 2 hours taping all the lines. I decided that I didn't want them in any order, just random sizes. It looks super cute and was easier than having to measure each stripe perfectly. Then we painted the stripes in a color pattern, one color at a time. We worked on it for about 8 hours and got all the stripes painted.
Well, because the walls are textured the tape couldn't be flat in some places so it bled. The next day I had to go through and fix EVERY single stripe with a little detail brush to make them perfect. I know that sounds anal but we had already spent so much time on it that I wanted it to be perfect. This took me another 6 hours over 2 days.
Next, I painted the solid wall blue... decided I didn't like it, so I painted it pink... decided it made the room look too chaotic.... So, back to white it was. I have a habit of being indecisive and making everything harder on myself. LOL! This took me a whole other day to do. Adding up the hours. :)
Then I taped the shape of the tree and painted that. Followed by the adorable little owls that I am pretty proud of, if I do say so myself. He he. Kaydence says that they are her and Easton. Sooo cute, huh.
I re-painted the "wish upon a star" sign because it used to be pink but didn't match either pink that I had in there. Re-painted the headboard.
Hung up all the decor and WALLAH! Here is her cute big girl room....

I couldn't resist this adorable painting!
Now, what project to tackle next.... :)

So lucky!

I am writing this mostly for my own good but to let you all know as well but I just have to say that I feel so lucky! I have the best husband in the world! He works so hard for our little family and does everything that he can to make things easier on us. His job is going really well and has helped us be able to accomplish a lot of goals that we honestly didn't know how we could ever do. It has helped relieve so much pressure that he and I have felt building up over the last few years with the economy being so crummy. He really does love his job and will hope to be doing this for the rest of his career.
I am so lucky to have 2 beautiful, amazing, healthy kids that I love more than anything in the world! It is so fun to watch them learn and grow everyday. Kaydence knows the whole alphabet and has started trying to read. Crazy! She'll ask us what a word is and we'll tell her to sound it out and she does it. I cannot believe that my baby will be in Kindergarten in 5 months! Where does the time go?... Easton is getting huge. Catching up to Kaydence quick. He doesn't talk too much but I know they say boys are usually slower so I'm not too worried about it. He says certain words and can kinda tell you what he wants. He is starting to understand alot of the Spanish that Rob will speak to him. He is ALL boy! He gets into any cupboard, drawer, closet that he can and will pull anything apart that he gets his hands on. He is the sweetest little boy though too. We are planning on having another one some time, after I get over my fear of going from 2 kids to 3. YIKES! That seems so overwhelming. I can't imagine us stopping at only 2 kids though so I know I have to get over my fear soon. LOL!
My weight loss is going really well. I have lost almost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. YAY! I actually joined Weight Watchers and I love it! It has been so great to learn what things to eat and what not to eat. I have found that there are some things that I thought were good for me that actually aren't. The first week was rough with learning to track the points but now its super easy. It feels so great to have the structure and be told flat out, what to do. I needed that. I can definitely tell a difference in how I feel and I can't wait til I can see a difference.
Anyway, that's enough rambling. Just wanted to let the world know that it's all good with the Pecks! :)

Thank you!

I know that my last blog post was despressing to read, it was way more depressing to write but it helped me SO much! It is amazing how you never know just how many people care about you and are there for you until you reach out to them.
I am so lucky to have so many friends still from childhood, high school, college, and my ward. I have had so many people offer me some great advice and help. It is so great to know that I am not alone in my struggles too. I'm really motivated to get my weight under control. I know that I'm really not "big" but I am just uncomfortable and self concious about it.
I am so lucky to have a hubby that has always been into fitness and is very supportive when it comes to helping me out.
I am getting a gym membership next month. I am just trying to figure out if I want one to Golds or 24 Hour Fitness. Gotta do my research on pricing and what classes they offer.
I also did a detox wrap last week. It goes into your skin and into the fat layer to break up the fat cells and draw out the excess water weight. I lost 4 inches and 3 lbs in the last week. It is so awesome! I wanna do one again.
Anyway, I just wanted to write a post to let you all know that I am doing better and to say thank you for all your love and support.

On my way to a healthier and happier me!

I am not usually one to post such personal things on my blog but I am following a friends advice/example and trying to pull down some walls that I have built up over the years. This is so hard for me and I am crying as I type this but I feel like being completely honest with myself and my friends is the first step...
I have struggled with my weight since I had my kids. I know that I should've worked out during and right after my pregnancies but I was always sooo sick and working out was the last thing on my mind. After my babies were born, I got PPD and it took alot for me to even function some days. So I really let myself go.
Well, at the beginning of last year I started working out and eating really well and I lost 20 lbs. I was so excited and wanted to lose more but then we decided to go to Kansas and it seemed like everything was thrown up in the air. There was so much to do and so much to think about, I lost interest in it and stopped caring. I've kept the weight off but given up on trying for more.
I have hit a point where I feel like I HAVE to lose this weight to be happy again. I know that my weight has held me back from doing a lot of things. It has even held me back from hanging out with friends and making new friendships. Whenever I was invited to go somewhere my first thought would be, "What am I going to wear? Do I have anything that I don't feel fat in?" and I would honestly some times, decide not to go because I wouldn't want people to see me at this weight.
I have alot of regrets about letting myself get this way and for taking on this attitude about myself but I am trying to change it. I am so bad at keeping things bottled up and pulling away from people instead of reaching out but I wanna be better, I need to be better.
I know that this probably sounds so dumb to some of you but I am reaching out, I need help to get back on track. Rob has always been super supportive but I feel like I need my girlfriends who understand and are on my same page to give me advice. I have some friends who are dieting themselves, really into fitness and train people too, and I would appreciate your input.
What are your routines? What has worked for you? What are some healthy diet foods that you like and don't get sick of? Is there any supplements that you take, that work? How do you find time to exercise with kiddos running around? If I wait til the end of the day, I am so exhausted! Any advice would be so awesome.
Thanks for listening and caring. That was super hard for me but I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can move up and in the right direction.
By posting this I feel like I am holding myself accountable for changing because I have put myself out there. One step at a time....

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Our Christmas was such a blast! The best one yet. We have so many fun traditions we have started. We drove around a couple nights before Christmas, looking at lights. We went to the "christmas street" in Taylorsville, Winder Dairy, Thanksgiving Point and the Spanish Fork festival of lights. The kids were in ahhh the whole time. We also decorate cookies and read "The Night Before Christmas" on the night before Christmas. Kaydence always is excited to see how many cookies Santa ate when she wakes up.
We always celebrate Christmas with our little family on Christmas Eve because we are sooo busy on Christmas day and it spreads out the fun. :)

Decorating the tree

Reading "The Night Before Christmas"

Making cookies for Santa :)

The stockings were hung....

Santa finally finished his work around 2 a.m.

The kids woke up around 8 and Kaydence came running into our room asking if Santa had come. We all went out there together and she went nuts the second she saw her dollhouse. Easton was so fun to watch open his presents. He kept saying "Whoa" and "what's that" it was so cute. It took us about 2 hours to open all the presents because the kids wanted to open each one and play with it before going on to the next present. Kaydence loved everything she got and definitely loved her make-up kit the most, after her dollhouse of course.

We go to my families house for dinner on Christmas Eve. Santa (my old Bishop from whem I was growing up) comes and gives the kids a candy cane and tells them to go to bed. The kids love seeing him! It is such a fun tradition and I remember being so excited to see him when I was little.
We draw names for who will buy a present for in the family and we open those presents and pajamas from Grandma that night.

My brother and his cute wife and daughter

Easton checking out his new book. Poor little guy got a hold of a cup of egg nog and drank it all before we realized what it was. He was COVERED in hives 5 minutes later. This egg allergy is NO fun.

As you can see, Kaydence loves her make-up. I think she had 20 layers of it on by then. LOL!

All the Timothy grandkids (Ellie (6), Kaydence(4), Cole(3), Easton(1&1/2), Summer(1), Aria (1) and Caleb( 7 months))

Christmas morning we went to Rob's parents house to open presents.

All tuckered out. Rob, Steve and Easton

Rapunzel opening another present

Me and my lil man

Easton LOVED this cat toy. LOL! He played in it forever.

After that we went back to my parents for breakfast and presents. The kids got fold out couches from my parents and the LOVE them. They honestly spend most of the day playing on them. I am so lucky to have such a big, loving family. We are really lucky to live to close to everyone and get to see them every holiday.

Kaydence and her papa

On New Years Eve we hung out with our next door neighbors, Amy and Steve. They are so great! We are so lucky to have them live next door.
Amy and I made tons of food! That is what you get when you send 2 hungry women, who are about to go on a diet, to the store for snacks. The guys laughed at us but didn't complain when they got to eat all our yummy food. We played games and laughed all night. The guys kept trying to sneak away to play xbox but we hid the remotes so we could have their attention for a couple hours. LOL! Kaydence and their little girl Zailey played all night. They wanted to see how late they could stay up for their "sleep over" but they tuckered out around 11:30. So close. It was such a blast!

Zailey took this lovely pic and told us to show her our butts. Silly girls!

Twinners. We are such dorks, we wore matching shirts cuz our hubbies always says that we are 2 peas in a pod. LOL!

The best of friends!

These 2 are a riot when they are together!

Rob and Steven, deep in thought. LOL! They make the FUNNIEST faces when they play.

2011 was such an awesome, adventurous year! Who would've thought that we would've moved away for 5 months and got to experience something so fun/emotional at the same time. We learned alot last year and are so excited to see what 2012 has to offer us. We have already accomplished a HUGE goal that we had for this year and are so ready to tackle more. This is definitely the most hopeful that I have been to start out a new year because I know it is going to be GREAT!
Hope all of you had a happy holiday and have a wonderful new year!

Hello again! It has been WAY too long since I have blogged! It is because the only internet that we have is on our phones and it takes a really long time to write out a whole blog post on the tiny screen. Just wanted to let everyone know what we have been up too. '
As soon as we got home we started on some projects around the house. We painted the whole upstairs, refinished furniture, put in a garbage disposal, fixed our leaky dishwasher (which leaked through the floor and flooded our laundry room downstairs:() got a new microwave above the stove ( I know this might not sound like a big deal but it makes our kitchen seem so much bigger :)) and brought in a backhoe to undercut the ground in our backyard to hopefully get rid of all the weeds. We have tried for 5 years to get a lawn going back there and NOTHING has worked so we are starting over and getting it hydro-seeded in the spring. So excited because it is a huge yard and would love our kids to be able to play out there next spring. We are gonna re-carpet soon too. Lots of othere little projects. It has been so much work but our house is looking great!
This summer went so great! Rob did really well and I am so grateful for that. It was scary to go out there, not knowing how it would be but it was great. Rob didn't mind the work and I had some great friends to hang out with and keep me busy. It is so strange how some times things come out of the blue and work out just the way they should. :) We can definitely say that this job opportunity came into our lives at the PERFECT time! Thanks again Ben and Jen!
Rob went back to work at the financial company after taking a couple weeks off and things are going better than ever! They completely changed the way that they are doing things there and it has improved so much. He really enjoys working there and is super busy. I think that this is definitely something that he wants to stick to doing. His boss asked for a kind of "commitment" that he wouldn't keep making a ton of money and then up and leave again (I guess that they have had that happen before). So, that kinda makes our decision of if we are going to go sell again next summer for us. We'll see though. LOL! :)
Kaydence is back to school at Bright Tykes and loves it. Ms Jennifer is so amazing with the kids and I can see how much she is learning everyday. She loves all her little friends and is so happy to be back. A new family moved in next door right before we left for Kansas and they have a 4 year old girl that Kaydence plays with almost every single day. They play so cute together.
Easton is getting huge! He is now 19 months old and catching up to Kaydence in size. He is also talking up a storm. He mostly jabbers but will repeat anything that you say and knows all the common words like eat, drink, night night, ball, toy, eat, play, mom, dad, sister, etc. Such an adorable little guy!
We have been so busy with lots of fun family events since we have been back and am really looking forward to the holidays. My FAVORITE time of the year. I can't wait to do all of our fun traditions, including making gingerbread houses, Christmas candy for the neighbors, going to see all the lights! I already have my Christams shopping done for the kids and am working on Robs now. He is the hard one since he will never tell me anything that he wants... Can't wait for Christmas though!!!!
Anywho, things are going so great with us and hopefully getting even better soon! ;)

Almost done!!

It is so so so crazy to think that our journey here in Kansas is coming to an end.I wanted to write a post, mostly to document for myself my feelings about this experience.
Boy has this been an adeventure! It has been so fun to see what another state has to offer and do some things here that we don't have back home in Utah.
This experience has been a lot different than I thought that it would be. It has been easier in the fact that I am LOVING having friends so close that I can literally walk across the parking lot and hang out with a number of different people. I have built some really great relationships with people that I just met through this job and I have gotten to build and make better, ones that I already had. I am so lucky that I got to come out here with so many friends. Honestly, would never have been okay with doing this if it wasn't for them!
This experience has been so much harder than I thought it would be in that it is such an emotional rollercoaster! There is no telling what the day is going to hold and no 2 days are the same. Rob can have this best week ever and then the next week have his work week. It is hard to see others having success when you aren't and hard not to be jealous of that too. I have learned that what everyone else does in there lives has no affect on what is happening in mine so there is no reason to compare it because everyones situation is different.
I am so grateful for the success that Rob has had with this job! It was a true test of faith coming out here because there is literally NO way of knowing how well you are going to do at this job til you get out here and do it and this is NO easy job! It is so awesome to see that Rob is #11 out of 272 first years doing this and #61 out of 380 people total. I would say that is success! He is working SOOO hard to make a better future for our family and I am so grateful for that! This job definitely is not for everyone. Our relationship has grown so much because I appreciate him a ton for working so hard and such long days and he is realizing just how much I do when I stay home and cook, clean, do laundry and take care of 2 super active kids all day.
Although some days (especially lately) I have a hard time keeping a positive attitude, I am still glad that we chose to come do this. I have a whole new respect for Rob and am so grateful that he is so willing to do whatever it takes to provide for our family. I have definitely grown closer to my kids and found alot more joy in being a mom and building a real relationship with Kaydence, now that she is getting older and more strong willed. I am so lucky to be their mom!! I couldn't ask for 2 better kids! I think that when I get home I will look back on this and realize that I have taken much more from this experience than just the obvious things.
I have a stronger testimony of prayer and how much it helps in our lives. There are so many days that I don't know how I am going to make it all day without freaking out or crying and I feel so lucky to know that all I need to do is pray and I will recieve the comfort and the strength that I need to make it just one more day. My dad gave me a bracelet when he got sick and it says "One Day At A Time" on it and I have tried to wear it every day this summer to remind me that every day here is different and there is a great chance that if today is crappy, tomorrow will be better. :)
I am SOOO excited to get back to our home and life back there! I have missed my family and friends so much! I really have taken for granted having my whole family live so close and having so many friends that I am still in contact with. Things will definitely be different when I get back!
The kids and I will flying home on Monday (for my little sis Cassie, her hubby and baby to get sealed in the Temple, YAY!) and Rob will be home the next week, when the season is over with. Can't wait to see everyone and wish us a safe trip home! :)

Don't forget to scroll down and see my other post from today! :)
