Congrats to my big sis!

Ok so I am only doing this because I have been dying to blog about it and I think it's finally safe because I can't spoil it now... My big sister Ashley is getting engaged tonight!! Yay!
She met her soon to be fiance' Neil when they were in high school 7 years ago and dated for awhile but broke up when he left on his mission. Well, 6 years have passed and through talking to friends they learned that they had both been married and divorced. They started talking a couple months ago and are absolutely perfect for each other! He loves her kids to death and is going to be a great dad!
How stinkin cute is that?!?! Definitely meant to be if after 6 years they found each other again!
I cannot tell you how happy I am that she is finally getting her happily ever after! The wedding date isn't set yet because her temple divorce is still in the works but hopefully it'll only be a few months.
CONGRATS Ashley and Neil! We love you both!

Thanks everyone!

I just wanted to post and say thanks so much to everyone that commented about my sewing! It's been so fun and I have so many projects in the works! I wanna make a dress for Kaydence, a dress for me, those cute letters I talked about before, more curtains, valances for my kitchen, pillows to match my curtains, finish a pillow from an enrichment activity last month and so much more! Wish me luck! I will post and let everyone know how it is going! Now, I challenge all of you that have ever wanted to learn to sew to GET STARTED it's actually easier than it looks and if I can do it, anyone can!

My new hobby!

So I have decided that I am going to be a little more domestic and I want to do some more crafty things around my house. So I borrowed my sisters sewing machine and I made drapes for my downstairs. I know it's way easy but that is big for me! Next I decided to be a little more daring and I made a skirt. The fabric for the skirt was just some scrap fabric that I got from my Grandma to practice with but I think I actually like it. We'll see if I really wear it but I sure am proud of myself.

(I promise they're even, they just look crooked in the picture)

(The pattern is floral, you can't really tell from this picture.

My next project is going to be these cute letters that you hang on the wall. I'll probably spell out Kaydences name. My really good friend Jen is going to show me how to make them because she has them for her daughter Taelie. She is so stinkin crafty and we are going to start doing craft nights once a month and I cannot wait!
Sorry if this seems dorky but I am super excited to learn some awesome things. If anyone has any other ideas of cute things that they have in there house that are easy to make, let me know please!

Someone's in the kitchen with mommy!

So, Kaydences new favorite thing to do is get in the drawer underneath the oven and take out the cake pans that i keep in there. She takes them into the front room and gets in them and scoots around on the carpet. I guess she thinks that it's her car cuz she'll say "vroom vroom" and "beep beep" the whole time. Aren't kids hilarious! What would we do without them to entertain us? :)
P.S. Don't mind the wonderful hair in this pic... We've all had the flu really bad this week and it was a photo op i couldn't miss!

Also, a couple days ago I heard the drawer in the fridge open and didn't really think anything of it because Rob was in the house somewhere but I came into the room a few minutes later to find Kaydence finishing off her favorite food ever... a raw hot dog! I know, it's gross to me too but the girl loves them. I usually at least try to cook them for her first but she didn't seem to mind it at all!
Look how guilty she looks in this picture!

Oh my! It's been way too long!

Well well, bet all of you thought that I'd forgotten about my blog. Well, I pretty much have. My bad!! Life has been pretty bumpy lately. For those of you who don't know, Rob lost his job at the beginning of the year. Stupid economy! He found a new one 3 weeks later at a mortgage company doing that sort of stuff and he actually really enjoys the job. It's been slow because he is commision based but everyone says that it really picks up after the first couple weeks so keep your fingers crossed for us!!
All is well other than that! Kaydence is getting so big, well not big but growing up tons. I think she is just always gonna be our little tinkerbell. I take her to the doctor on thursday for her 18 month appt. Boy time flies! I can't believe that my baby is so old! She goes to nursery at church now and absolutely loves it! She does so awesome, never even fusses!
I am still working at the salon a couple days a week and still really enjoying that. I love the girls that I work with! Makes it pretty fun!
Valentines day was amazing! Rob and Kaydee surprised me at work with a huge rose bouquet and card that Kaydee had drawn. We had Cafe Rio for dinner. Yum yum! The rest of the night we just hung out at home and had a really great night. Oh and I've been wanting nice new dishes forever and Rob got me them too. He's so sweet. :) Well, nothing much else to blog about. I'll try to not make it so long without blogging next time!

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas was absolutely awesome this year! I am still such a little kid. I couldn't go to sleep the night before so I stayed up watching A Christmas Story til after 1 in the morning! Each year we switch off which family we go to early moring and this year was Robs family. We woke up and got there about 7 a.m. Everyone got there around that time and we started opening presents shortly after. We all got some fun stuff. Kaydence got a baby doll that she adores! Its always so much fun being with his siblings and they're spouses. We have a good time!
After that we went to my parents about 9:30. They all came and watched us open our presents cuz they were all long done. With my little brother, I was not surprised. We got some great stuff there too! I got lots of clothes and a cute purse. Rob got a game that we are obsesses with now! It's called ticket to ride. He got spoiled too with clothes. Kaydence got so many toys and had to open them all as we went. So, present opening took forever! It was so fun to see her really into it this year!
My Uncle and his family came over and they are always fun to hang out with! I have a cousin that is in hair school now so I bet ya can't guess what we talk about the whole time!
We went home and did our Christmas after that. Rob got me books and take a wild guess what else... more clothes! I'm such a girly girl! I got him a few things that he was surprised about but his favorite being an exercise thing that you put in the doorway. He loves it. His shoulder isn't quite healed yet so its a good easy exercise he can do now.
Anyway, sorry I went on so long but Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year!!
We are so blessed that we have 2 great families that we are so close with! It's easy to forget that Christmas isn't about the presents and the lights but it is about our Savior and what he has done for us. About his birth and what a blessing he has given us through His church! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope you have a happy new year!
Bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7 a.m.

All aboard the animal train!

Kaydence loved this ball popper that my sister got my nephew. She didn't leave it alone practically the whole time we were at my moms. So I went the next day and bought her one! Ultimate favorite toy ever!

One of Kaydences favorite presents was a backpack that my mom gave her. The thing is almost as big as she is but she insists on wearing it all the time.

Giving her new baby kisses! You can see the Peck family Christmas chaos behind her! It's fun and really messy having a big family!

My sister and brother in law have an ugly pajama contest every year. They make each others pajamas! I think Amy definitely won this year! Bryce looked hilarious. Wish you could see his light up wings and big bow on his bottom in this pic!

Not exactly how you play basketball...

I know I'm a little behind on the times but I really wanted all the Harry Potter books!

Daddys favorite present!

The medical mystery is solved... I think...

First off, thanks so much to everyone that commented on my blog and called with their thoughts on what has been going on with Kaydence. I really have appreciated it! My friend Julie called me and told me about something her son had called Roseola and that sounded exactly like what she has! All the symptoms she described sounded the same. So I went on WebMd and researched it more. EVERYTHING on there matches what she has. Loss of appetite, drowsiness, hive like rash all over the trunk area and upset tummy. I'm stil concerned because she still has a upset tummy so i called the pediatrician and she asked about the medicine they gave me last week and guess what the main ingredient in that medicine is... MILK!! Now anyone that knows us knows that Kaydence is extremely allergic to dairy! DUH, I'm really irritated cuz i told the doctor that she is really allergic to dairy and she still prescribed that. Kaydence's normal doctor wasn't there so I had to see another one and I am not fond of her at all. So anyway, they put Kaydence on a very strict diet for the next week and we'll see what happens. They joys of motherhood!! It's hard to not take it personal when something is wrong with your child but i wouldn't trade being a mom for anything in the world! I love my little princess! :)
