Hello from Kansas!

Hello everyone! Sorry that it has taken me so long to blog about our new adventure but we are mooching the internet off of Rob's office and the connection is weird so I never know when I will have enough time to write something. So here's to hoping this works. LOL!
Our ride here went EXTREMELY well! The kids did amazing! The first day flew by and was pretty uneventful other than our check engine light came on in Evanston, Wyoming. Rob checked the oil and it was almost totally empty... Thank you to the geniuses at Tunex who had serviced our car a couple days before, guess someone missed something... It was a quick fix and we were back on the road. We planned to only go 8 hours to Nebraska but thanks to the wonderful closure on I-80 after Cheyenne Wyoming, we had to back track to I-70 and go through Denver Colorado. It added an hour onto our trip, which was no fun but not bad. We planned to stay the night in Denver but the kids were doing so great that we decided to push on to Goodland, Kansas, another 4 hours. So our total trip that day was almost 13 hours with potty breaks.
We didn't have much of a choice of where to stay in this podunk little town so after a trip to wal-mart for a can of lysol we chose our best option, the Super 8 motel. It actually wasn't too bad and I felt much betterI after giving the room a lysol bath. Yes I am a germ freak, I'll admit it. :) The night went smooth and we were off at 9 the next morning. That trip really flew, being a total of only 6 hours with only 1 stop. Again, the kids were amazing! The portable DVD player we bought for the trip was the best purchase I think I've ever made.
We got to our apartment and let me just tell you that Kansas is NOTHING like I expected! I thought it would just be flat flat flat but no, there are hills everywhere. I feel like we live in the Woods! It is green everywhere and trees galore! It really is a beautiful place.
Our apartment is great! Big rooms, big living area, 2 full baths, and a MASSIVE walk in closet for our room. I really love this place.
We're right across the street from Shawnee Mission Park and it is amazing. There is a huge lake that you can boat and fish in, play areas for the kids, frisbee golf and regular golf courses, tennis courts, baseball field, etc... Gee I sound like a brochure. LOL! Anyway, it is a really pretty place and we've spent everyday there that we can. The weather has been kind of crummy, cold and rainy but not too bad.
Kaydence is loving it here. She tells me everyday that she loves everything about our new house. She has friends here that she sees everyday and that is so much fun for her. We're all within walking distance of eachothers apartments and there are lots more people to come so I'm sure it'll get pretty hectic around here.
Easton has done pretty well adjusting except I'm having a hard time getting him back on schedule. Hopefully it'll get better soon.
Rob is doing amazing at his job!! He has had alot of success so far and is getting better!!! I am so proud of how hard he works and the positive attitude that he has had because this IS NOT an easy job. It is so nice to see that this huge risk that we took is paying off! The long days of walking aren't bothering him at all. :) I am so grateful for that because he's always had a bad back and it hasn't acted up at all. Fingers crossed!!
I am doing well too. I have my moments when I miss my family or get bored but I just need to figure out more stuff around here and I think I'll be fine once I venture out a little more. I'm getting pretty sick of the trip to Wal Mart and back.
Sorry there are no pics but we can't find the cord that hooks the camera to the computer. I'm gonna search today and go buy one if i can't find it. I won't leave you all hanging on without pictures, i promise!
Love and miss you all!!!
