Just an update...

Thanks so much to everyone that has shown us so much love and concern through our hard time. It really does help to have this blog and be able to keep in touch with so many great people and know that I am not alone in this trying world. That other moms can be just as lost as I am some times. So thanks again! :)
Just an update... Today is the first day that we have not had to give Kaydence a breathing treatment! YAY! She is doing so much better. Poor little thing sounds like she is coughing up a lung most of the day but the doctors said that is what we want to happen because it means that her airway is open and allowing stuff through. Also, she ate solid food today and kept it down. Yay again! She's still sleeping lots, which I will not complain about. :) She sleeps about 14 hours at night and takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day. It's gotta be exhausting.
It is so so good to see her getting back to being our mischievous little princess! She is the light of our lives and we are so blessed to have our tiny beeny Kaydee bug!

What an eventful weekend...

We had a pretty eventful weekend at our house. Started out fine on saturday morning and we ended the day at Primary Childrens hospital...
Kaydence woke up Saturday morning and was weezing a little bit. She has asthma so we didn't think much of it and gave her the inhaler and she started to get a little better but still was weezing when i went to work at noon. I called Rob from work at 4 and he said that her breathing had gotten much worse and was worried we'd have to take her to the doctor. Me being a first time mom, I freaked out and they let me leave work. When I got home it sounded like she was barely getting any air so we rushed her to the Insta care. Now, we still don't have health insurance is why we went to an Insta care, cuz they are supposed to be cheaper. So we got there and they gave her a couple Nebulizer treatments and a steriod shot and they got her breathing good enough that they could hear that there was something else going on... CROUP!! They were really concerned because it sounded like her airway was barely open so they made us go by ambulance to Primary Chilrens. Talk about scary!
When we got to the hospital they rushed her into the emergency and kept giving her more breathing treatments and she was on oxygen for hours. They took us to get an x-ray done of her throat and they were right, it looked completely clamped closed in the middle. Her having asthma made it a lot worse too. It was definitely a really bad viral infection in her throat. One that just had to run its course because it can't be treated with antibiotics.
So, they kept us over night. By this time things had gotten better that Kaydence wanted to eat and run around the room. They told us to try to keep her calm as much as possible but if you have a 1 year old, you know thats impossible for too long. By the time that they had us in our room for the night she could go off the oxygen for little bits of time. So we would let her play for a bit cuz she really wanted to explore this new room. She slept ok during the night. A couple hours at a time. They came in to check her stats cuz she was all hooked up to machines and she would wake up every time and just wanted mom so I got maybe 3 hours of sleep.
The doctor came in the morning and said that they wanted to observe her a while longer and she got to where she could totally breath on her own. They finally let us go home in the afternoon. YAY!!
Kaydence is doing well now. She starts to weez if we let her wonder around the house so we try to keep her in one place as much as we can. We've watched High School Musical over and over to keep her happy. Hey, being a mom is about sacrifice right! It's so awesome to hear her talk again and know that she is going to be ok. She means the world to us and I cannot tell you how scary this has all been but we are so so lucky that she is getting better and will be the same ol Kaydee in a few days. We are so blessed! They said that she'll be pretty sick for awhile but hopefully the worst is over. We're supposed to stay away from people for 7 to 10 days as well so we'll be m.i.a for while but we don't wanna share the love.

What's new with us!

I feel like it has been forever since I've blogged again, sorry! I just wanted to put a little update on here...
Rob is loving his new job. I have to tell you that it is so awesome to see him excited to go to work. He really feels like he is accomplishing things and helping people get better home loans which is really nice considering this slump that the economy is in. I think that now we can finally say that him losing his job was a blessing! He was wanting to get out of there for a long time and just needed a little to push to venture out into another career!
I am still working in the salon and doing some hair at home too. It really has been a blessing to have that skill that I can do out of my home. I love it! I have been super busy helping my sister with her wedding plans. So much to do, so LITTLE time! Less than 5 weeks! Gotta make the guest book, plan the bridal shower, make 2 bridesmaid dresses, put together the flower arrangements and help with the invites. I am really loving having so much to do though! :)
Oh and lots of you have asked if we got the Aflac insurance, and thanks for everyones input on that. Yup we got it!! I am so excited. We got new primary insurance that has a 90 day waiting period before you can get pregnant so hopefully all will go well and in just over a year we'll have another little blessing in our family! :)
If you've been over to our house lately this is what you've seen of Kaydence...

She is obsessed with High School Musical! Except, she calls it "boys are back" cuz that is her favorite song on there. I have never seen a kid that will sit there for a WHOLE movie and barely blink. She's always been a fan of music. When I was prego with her we'd go to church and as soon as the organ started in Sacrament she would start kicking like crazy. I really think she's gonna be a dancer!

Our poor little bug had an asthma attack this week so we had to have her use her inhalor with an air chamber on it, which she calls her "do do do" cuz we pretend like it's a trumpet so that she's not afraid to use it. It works like magic and it's good that she thinks it's a toy cuz she'll breath into it really well. But yes, it does have tape on it because daddy accidently stepped on it and cracked it. Believe it or not, it was pretty expensive so it may look funny but I'm all about saving money and it works perfectly still.

Aflac.. Yay or nay?

Rob and I want to have another baby and we don't have good maternity coverage with the insurance that we are getting next month, so we have heard about Aflac and wanted to know if anyone has had it or knows anyone that has and if it is worth. Do you really just get a check after you have the baby? We are meeting with a guy tomorrow about it and I just wanted some opinions before we met with him. So, please let me know. :) Thanks!

Help! Advice Please!

This week we decided that Kaydence should be done with bottles all together. She has only been having a bottle at night time for the last 6 months and that has worked out great. Her pediatrician said that he wanted us to keep giving her a bottle of rice milk at night because she is so small and he wanted to make sure that she is going to bed full to hopefully help her gain weight. Well, we haven't been able to take her to the doctor because we lost our insurance with Robs old job so we decided that she's 19 months old and we need to break the habit some time. Well, as you can imagine the past few nights have been a NIGHTMARE!! She screams and screams and won't fall asleep til late and wakes up in the middle of the night. We've tried giving her the rice milk, juice, and water in a sippy and nothing is working! I don't know what to do and I feel so guilty that I have to let her scream herself to sleep! Any ideas would be great...

Congrats to my big sis!

Ok so I am only doing this because I have been dying to blog about it and I think it's finally safe because I can't spoil it now... My big sister Ashley is getting engaged tonight!! Yay!
She met her soon to be fiance' Neil when they were in high school 7 years ago and dated for awhile but broke up when he left on his mission. Well, 6 years have passed and through talking to friends they learned that they had both been married and divorced. They started talking a couple months ago and are absolutely perfect for each other! He loves her kids to death and is going to be a great dad!
How stinkin cute is that?!?! Definitely meant to be if after 6 years they found each other again!
I cannot tell you how happy I am that she is finally getting her happily ever after! The wedding date isn't set yet because her temple divorce is still in the works but hopefully it'll only be a few months.
CONGRATS Ashley and Neil! We love you both!

Thanks everyone!

I just wanted to post and say thanks so much to everyone that commented about my sewing! It's been so fun and I have so many projects in the works! I wanna make a dress for Kaydence, a dress for me, those cute letters I talked about before, more curtains, valances for my kitchen, pillows to match my curtains, finish a pillow from an enrichment activity last month and so much more! Wish me luck! I will post and let everyone know how it is going! Now, I challenge all of you that have ever wanted to learn to sew to GET STARTED it's actually easier than it looks and if I can do it, anyone can!
